Initialize the session

Send a JSON-RPC 2.0 initialize request with a request ID, the supported protocol version, client capabilities, and a non-sensitive client name and version. Lead360 returns server information, tool-list capabilities, and an instruction that operations are limited to the credential location and granted scopes.

After a successful initialize response, send notifications/initialized. Lead360 returns HTTP 202 for the notification. The endpoint also supports ping for a lightweight protocol check.

The tools are a controlled gateway to the operation registry. They do not expose raw database access, arbitrary URLs, internal Python functions, tenant selection, or free-form HTTP requests. Search and fetch return only operations authorized by the current token.

MCP safety model

  • Bearer authentication derives the exact sub-account from the stored credential.
  • Tool discovery is filtered by scopes and service entitlements.
  • Tool arguments reject tenant, credential, transport, and server authority fields.
  • Reviewed green read adapters can execute directly.
  • Customer writes, destructive changes, sends, publishing, and financial effects fail closed for Lead360 approval.
  • Every authenticated request consumes the token rate limit and records durable usage state.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Lead360 MCP endpoint tenant specific in the URL?

The public URL is shared, but the Bearer credential is bound to one exact sub-account on the server. The client cannot choose another tenant in tool arguments.

Which MCP methods are supported?

The endpoint supports initialize, ping, notifications/initialized, tools/list, and tools/call.

Can MCP tools directly send messages or change records?

No. The current execution boundary directly runs reviewed reads. Mutations return approval_required and must use the Lead360 review workflow.
